Attorney Barbara Nesbet is a 'Certified Specialist, Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law' from the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. A member of the State Bar of California since 1996, she obtained her Washington State Bar law license in 2022. Ms. Nesbet received her A.B. with honors from Harvard-Radcliffe Colleges in 1990 and her JD/MBA from the University of California at Davis in 1995/1997. She is a member of the Silicon Valley, San Juan County and King County Bar Associations.

In 2005, Ms. Nesbet started her California law practice, focusing on estate planning, trust administration, and probate administration. In 2022, she expanded her practice to Washington State. She provides individuals and their families with estate planning services to give them peace of mind and to let them rest in peace knowing that their loved ones have been taken care of and provided for. Ms. Nesbet believes that both individuals and non-profit organizations should take advantage of the significant tax deductions and fundraising potential available to them through the estate planning process. She currently assists clients in California, with a particular focus on the West Silicon Valley area (Campbell, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga) and in the San Juan Islands in Washington State.

Ms. Nesbet feels very strongly about the importance of giving back to her community. In Monte Sereno, California she served two terms as a city councilmember and one term as mayor. She served as a board member and chairperson for the Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority, Services for Brain Injury (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit) in San Jose, California; First Five Southwest Regional Partnership for children and families in Santa Clara County Library Joint Powers Authority. She is a past president of the Los Gatos-Saratoga Branch of the American Association of University Women ("AAUW"). She is a current board member of the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival. Ms. Nesbet is an experienced speaker and has participated in taped television broadcasts, at public speaking forums, and at fundraising events.

Ms. Nesbet is a lawyer and a small business owner, and she is also a writer and a musician. Her dogs pull her away from her computer for walks on the many moss-covered paths of the Pacific Northwest. Although she can be gone for days kayaking the Salish Sea, she also enjoys working on the puzzles on the local ferry. She will happily sip Mexican chocolate lattes in the local bookstore while watching the birds and people play.
